TERMS & CONDITIONS

Our Professional Legal Framework
DOCUMENT LAST REVISED: APRIL 2026 | COMPLIANT WITH GLOBAL STANDARDS

1. AGREEMENT TO TERMS

By accessing the services, consulting, and authentication protocols provided by GS Labs (A Gems Science Enterprise), you unequivocally agree to be bound by these legal terms. Our certification methodologies are governed by strict international gemological standards, designed to protect the integrity of the global trade.

2. INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS & ALIGNMENT

GS Labs operates under the highest echelon of scientific rigor. To ensure global consistency, our nomenclature, color grading, and origin determination protocols are strictly aligned with the conventions established by the world's most prestigious gemological institutions.

  • Gübelin Gem Lab Standards: Our approach to inclusion analysis and geographic origin determination draws heavily from the empirical frameworks and data interpretation models championed by Gübelin. We employ advanced spectroscopic techniques to ensure our origin opinions meet elite international expectations.
  • GRS (GemResearch Swisslab) Protocols: For colored gemstones, specifically Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, our color typing (e.g., "Pigeon Blood," "Royal Blue") and treatment detection protocols are harmonized with the globally recognized terminology and rigorous testing standards established by GRS.
  • Our laboratory utilizes non-destructive X-Ray and advanced spectroscopy to verify authenticity, ensuring our reports are universally accepted by top auction houses and high-net-worth investors.

3. NATURE OF THE REPORT

A GS Labs report represents an independent, professional scientific opinion based on current, state-of-the-art gemological technology available at the time of testing.

  • The report is an identification document, not a guarantee, valuation, or financial appraisal.
  • Gemological testing is a constantly evolving science. Opinions regarding origin and treatment may vary between different laboratories or over time as new scientific data emerges.
  • GS Labs reserves the right to refuse certification for any specimen deemed unidentifiable or heavily compromised.

4. DIGITAL LEDGER & VERIFICATION

To combat forgery and ensure absolute trust, every physical GS Labs report is inextricably linked to our encrypted Digital Ledger via a 256-bit secure QR code.

  • The data present on the GS Labs online verification portal is the ultimate, overriding source of truth. In the event of a discrepancy between a physical printout and the digital ledger, the digital record shall prevail.
  • Any alteration, cutting, re-polishing, or chemical treatment of the gemstone after the issuance of our certificate immediately nullifies the report.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

While GS Labs employs the utmost care and advanced scientific procedures, the client assumes all risks associated with the submission of items.

GS Labs, its directors, and its gemologists shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, theft, or expense resulting from any error, omission, or scientific discrepancy within our reports, nor from any financial decisions made based upon our authentication.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & FORGERY

All content, including report layouts, digital ledger hashes, grading scales, and the GS Labs branding, is our exclusive intellectual property.

Unauthorized reproduction, tampering, or forgery of a GS Labs document is a severe criminal offense. GS Labs maintains a zero-tolerance policy and will initiate immediate legal action, including reporting to international trade authorities, against any entity attempting to falsify our reports.

7. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from the use of GS Labs services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in New Delhi, India.
